None of this is really about us. We, the Kennedy family, are included in but a few chapters of God’s Great Story. We hope as you read the stories of our journey as disciples of Jesus, that you too are inspired to consider how God is writing your life into His Story.

Farewell Canada…

Wow, today seems to have snuck up on us! After 3 months (haha, not 3 weeks as expected!) we are on our way…

Today, April 11 we leave Canada for France!

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory.” Ephesians3:20-21

France is in our sights…

Oh how God’s plans are different than our own! But as we reflect on our time in Calgary, we celebrate this reality. We had no idea what God had in store for us here, but He has far exceeded all of our hopes for what this time in Calgary would be for our family. We believed we were coming to spend time with Becky’s parents, re-connect with old friends, and get to know our new “sending church”. But our expectations ended there.

God did immeasurably more.

We leave Canada so richly blessed. We spent much precious family time with Becky’s parents. We rested. We prayed. We grew in faith. But the unexpected, sweet surprise was the way our family was embraced by our sending church, Mission Hill.

When we arrived, we essentially had relationships with the pastor and his wife and a few old friends. Yet at our commissioning service last Sunday, we stood together, surrounded by such an overwhelming number of people who have become our church family. God gifted us with new friends, the kind you connect with so easily that you feel you have known each other forever. By these people we were discipled, encouraged and loved. It was incredible and so beyond anything we could have asked for or imagined.

The Practical:

We are officially 91% funded! Join us in trusting God to provide the rest.
For our travel day, for peace and joy, no matter how it goes.
We have a short term rental until May 8, so in the next month we will be searching for our next home.
We will be looking to buy a car shortly after we arrive.

The Eternal:

That God would bless our family with a joyful spirit, that we would face the “hard” stuff with joy and peace, trusting in His faithfulness.
For blessing on our relationships with the church community in Aix-les-Bains.
For guidance as we search out where God wants us to be “planted”. For our future neighbours.
