None of this is really about us. We, the Kennedy family, are included in but a few chapters of God’s Great Story. We hope as you read the stories of our journey as disciples of Jesus, that you too are inspired to consider how God is writing your life into His Story.

Chapter 4.88 x 10⁸⁴²⁶: The In Between Place

“Now listen, you who say ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’” James 4:13-15

In Canada we remain…

Last newsletter we shared that 2 of our 3 doors had been opened. But at the present time, door 3 “Fully Funded” remains closed. So, for the time being, we remain in Canada. After having sold our home at 12 Brunet, we officially moved out on October 2nd and have since settled into the basement of our friend’s house, where life continues to happen in our “In Between Place”.

So now what?

Considering the verse above, we are truly in a place where we can say with complete confidence: “We’re not sure how this will all work out!” BUT despite the uncomfortable feeling of not knowing the timing of God’s plans, we continue to believe that God is GOOD and FAITHFUL and His plans are perfect. We hold on to the truth that He will not fail us and we can trust Him, even if things feel so uncomfortable right now. But this season is not easy!! We would love your prayers to stand firm and be courageous through this time.

Life in Between :

Joel

Without renovations to do, Joel has been able to focus much of his time split between discipleship, support raising and in vision development. God continues to expand Joel’s connections with other thinkers and church leaders around the world (quite literally). As God continues to shape the ideas we expect to live out in France, Joel has been busy prayerfully developing the ideas of building Church as a Discipleship Ecosystem.

Life in Between :

Becky

With our move to France in focus, Becky has been winding down her medical practice, and is transitioning from full time doctor to wife, mother, teacher, and future missionary.

She currently works in the clinic one day a week, and has begun saying her good-byes. This photo is of one of her beloved families, the oldest boy was her very first patient as a new doctor!

Life in Between :

Noëlle & Brennan

Given the unpredictability in our lives at the moment, we felt God’s loving care for our kids in terms of school this year, by being lead to an online schooling program that is based in France. This has been a great blessing and answer to prayer, as it allows us to familiarize the kids with the school curriculum in France, and the flexibility to move whenever God gives us the green light. Becky has taken on the teacher role and loves it!

Besides school, the kids are thriving. Noëlle has continued with ballet and Brennan mixed-martial arts. They both fill our tiny apartment with tons of joy (and paper airplanes, Brennans’s latest passion!). They are truly an example to us of living in the moment, and not worrying about the future.

At the time of writing our last newsletter, we were at 59% funded. Today, we are at 70%. Closer, but not close enough, friends! Pray for the local church in Aix-les-Bains, “Le Rivage”, and for it’s leadership. This vibrant church community will be receiving us as our hosts and will be our immediate connection in the city and region. We are so thankful for them.

For courage to continue to trust God in the midst of our uncertainties and doubts. For peace as we continue to rely upon Him to provide. For wisdom in discerning the next steps.
